Taking the Stress Out of Your Home Renovation

Hi! Since you’re here, you must be contemplating a home renovation. So exciting! I’d love to tell you about who I am, how I started Organized Chaos and how I can help you through a stress-free renovation.

My name is Stephanie Green and I am a New Yorker through and through. After college, I worked for a NYC Real Estate investor as a Managing Agent. One of my responsibilities was overseeing apartment renovations (oh, the stories I can tell you!). Figuring out how to tackle inevitable obstacles is definitely one of the skills I honed from that experience. I ultimately ended up leaving Real Estate and had a successful career in Media Sales. While working in Media, I learned how to red-line and negotiate contracts, develop strong relationships with both colleagues and clients, meet deadlines and collaborate with people to get things done. I was a professional problem-solver, a very convincing salesperson and a working Mom - I know how to keep chaos organized!

 

I loved working in Advertising and Real Estate became a hobby in a way - I was increasingly obsessed with all aspects of NYC Real Estate, even getting my Real Estate broker’s license. My husband jokes that I buy and sell Real Estate in my mind every day. I think about how I’d reconfigure my imaginary real estate holdings all the time. I can literally spend hours looking at floor plans to determine how I’d change the space to accommodate my family’s needs (btw, some of my favorite sites are Curbed, StreetEasy, the NYTimes Real Estate section and ApartmentTherapy). Fast forward, I finally got the chance to put that passion and knowledge to the test with my very own apartment remodel. I felt like a kid in a candy store while I poured through images on Pinterest, scrolled through Instagram for design inspo and searched for the perfect faucets as I imagined how my new space would look.

 

When I told friends and family about my renovation, they revealed that overseeing their own renovation was such a headache. While they were excited to transform their homes, they had not been looking forward to the process and wished they could have handed it to someone else to manage. I’ve since learned that sometimes people don’t know the first thing about renovating their space or simply don’t have the time to do it. And, I understand that, what with family and friends, careers and well, life in general, people have more than enough to juggle without having to worry about appliance deliveries or change orders! I ended up working with a few clients when I realized I was on to something and Organized Chaos was born.

 

The bottom line is that transforming your space can be super stressful. Whether you’re renovating your bathroom or kitchen or doing a full remodel, I can plug into your needs at any time – from sourcing architects and contractors to negotiating contracts to overseeing the project with a pre-selected team or simply helping you choose finishes. I can work with you in whatever capacity you need, from small to large scale projects, so that you don’t have to worry.

 

Ultimately, my goal is to make your project stress-free. I’ll be your single point of contact. I’ll deal with the people helping to transform your space, while you go about your busy life. You’ll have as little or as much control as you’d like and you’ll always have the final say.
